About the SSA!

To provide Public Benefit Programs which inspire education and personal development Through the Works of William Shakespeare Relating to history, culture, literature, theatre and art in America.

GLOBE LEGACY.  In 1973 SSA Stakeholders designed, built and operated an authentic 1/2 replica of Shakespeare ’s 1599 Globe Theatre interior in the Globe Playhouse in West Hollywood, CA.

SSA staged Shakespeare’s 38 Plays in succession two times, 1976-1979 and 1981-1984.

By January 2007 after serving nearly 500,000 guests, SSA had to relocate and prepare to reorganize, rebrand and operate in the digital age without a stage .

RELOCATION. In September 2008 the SSA relocated to Moss Landing, CA in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and opened the New Shakespeare Sanctuary as the center for ongoing Public Benefit Programs.
