After providing Public Benefit Programs for more than 35 years at the world famous Globe Playhouse in West Hollywood, CA, the Shakespeare Society of America (SSA) was forced to relocate immediately following the passing of R. Thad Taylor, Founder and Executive Director of the SSA from 1968 - 2006.

Thad had remarkable passion with an extraordinary knowledge, experience and understanding of the Works of William Shakespeare.  He believed Shakespeare was a genius, and exposure to the fruits of Shakespeare's life would positively impact and enhance the lives of anyone and everyone.  more on Thad Taylor... May Robert "Thaddeus" Taylor rest in infinite peace, knowing that the most professional, loving, devoted effort is being made to share the fruit he lived to produce and continue the mission for which he dedicated his life. more on SSA History...

"All the World's a Stage" - As You Like It

SSA lost it's lease and while the curtain has closed on the 35 year history of theatrical productions at the Globe Playhouse, exciting new opportunities abound. Inspired by none other than Shakespeare himself, "All the World's a Stage", SSA embraces the opportunity to make the world our stage and take this opportunity to expand our outreach utilizing technology and implementing mobile programs.

"Defer no time, delays have dangerous ends!" - First Part of King Henry VI

The SSA Board of Directors is doing everything possible to avoid liquidation of any portion of the SSA Collection to fund relocation expense and transition costs.  Loss of the lease on the SSA Globe Playhouse resulted in temporary elimination of funding revenues.  We need your help today!

"We are such stuff as dreams are made on" - The Tempest

With your help we are committed to continue to share the SSA's unique collection and public benefit programs for generations to come! The current project is a HUGE but worthy undertaking! As the program progresses, updates and accomplishments will be posted to the website. Stay in touch and check back regularly!

Staff are available to answer any questions you may have.  We'd especially like to hear from former alumni and patrons! Please feel free to email us at admin@ShakespeareSocietyOfAmerica.org.
